PPL Spotlight: Thembi Tillman

An engineer by trade, Thembi has held a variety of positions with PPL subsidiaries LG&E and KU – all with the common purpose of helping customers achieve their day-to-day goals , whether that’s finding ways to use energy more wisely, support the development of solar power, or find a convenient spot to charge their EVs.

“I love interacting with people, and my role gives me a unique opportunity to have a positive impact on their everyday lives,” shares Tillman.

Natural gas line upgrades ahead of the curve

LG&E completed a long-term gas main replacement project reached in the heart of downtown Louisville in June 2017. The final stretch of work wrapped up an initiative that began back in 1996 when LG&E established a program to replace 540 miles of aging cast iron, wrought iron and bare steel natural gas pipelines, which are more vulnerable to degradation over time, with more durable plastic natural gas pipelines.
