There are lots of things Marilyn Nunez enjoys about her job in Customer Service for PPL Electric Utilities. She loves the welcoming atmosphere she felt right away and the pride employees across the board take in their work. She appreciates the support managers give her and the opportunities to grow. But nothing tops the feeling she gets from successfully helping customers.
“Satisfying customers is definitely the best part,” said Nunez. “I love talking to the customers and when I hear the customer is happy at the end of the conversation and completely satisfied, that makes me feel so happy and fulfilled.”
Nunez, a native of Brooklyn, New York, who grew up in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, started working for PPL Electric Utilities in 1999 as a customer service representative. She began focusing on small commercial customer accounts around 2016, and in 2019 took on her current role handling larger commercial customer accounts.
She fields billing questions for large commercial customers, helps them shop for the best rates for electricity supply, helps them with new installations, and arranges for them to connect distributed energy resources to PPL Electric Utilities’ grid, among other things.
“I like feeling like I made a difference and I’m fortunate that I get to experience that feeling often,” Nunez said.
Nunez said when she expresses interest in new roles and positions at PPL Electric, she’s always encouraged to grow and take them on.
“Supervisors here help you reach your goals,” she said. “PPL provides you with the tools you need to advance.
“I love this company,” she said. “I loved it from Day 1. This is a great company to work for – the best company I’ve worked for.”
